Authorities are Investigating The Lodge Card Club for Alleged Money Laundering

A raid focusing on The Lodge Card Membership in Texas was over suspected cash laundering and unlawful playing, a press release to PokerNews from the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Fee (TABC) confirms.

The poker site co-owned by high-profile execs Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, and Brad Owen stays closed and no timetable has been set for a reopening. Authorities from the TABC entered the Austin-area constructing on Tuesday to analyze an undisclosed matter that had, till now, been withheld from the general public.

Many speculated, given the company investigating handles liquor associated points, that the property search was over a liquor license or serving alcohol to minors. It seems these assumptions had been incorrect.

TABC Points Assertion

Chris Porter, TABC Director of Communications, gave PokerNews some normal data as to why his group is investigating the biggest poker site in Texas. He defined that “Texas Alcoholic Beverage Fee’s Monetary Crimes Unit, together with members of the Particular Investigations Unit and Operations Bureau executed a search and seizure warrant at Lodge Card Membership at the side of an ongoing investigation into suspected cash laundering and unlawful playing.”

Roughly 20 TABC brokers had been concerned with the operation together with officers from the Williamson County Sheriff’s Workplace and the IRS. Porter stated no arrests have been made and no expenses have been filed in opposition to the enterprise. The investigation stays ongoing, and as such couldn’t present additional particulars.
